Working with multi-channel sounds in Audacity is a bit awkward because Audacity does not support multi-channel tracks beyond 2 channels (stereo). When you move tracks around you will need to be careful to keep all of the channels for each multi-channel sound in synch. You would probably be better to...

One possible explanation for the higher pitch is if some samples are being dropped during the recording process. This is likely to have a noticeable (bad) effect on the sound quality, but if it is not too drastic then the problem may not be immediately obvious without looking really closely at the w...
