Re: Commencement time of recording
You will know the time that the recording started because it will start at the time that you set. Times of events within the recording can be worked out by adding the time in the recording to the start time. Example: If you set timer record to start at 2:00 pm to record for 1 hour, then an event tha...

Re: Noise removal Step 2 missing
That tutorial is very old (2006) and refers to an obsolete version of Audacity. The current version of Audacity is 2.0 and it is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ Instructions for using Noise Removal are in the included manual (in the Help menu) or on-line here: http://manual.audacit...

Re: Help needed to set up Audacity 2 for recording web radio
Just a quick addition: Although installing PulseAudio should provide an option for recording sounds that are playing on the computer, you need to be a bit cautious about installing PulseAudio as it links deep into the system and can be very difficult to remove if you have problems with it. Have a lo...

Re: Help needed to set up Audacity 2 for recording web radio
at the end of the list I get the message "Unable to open Portmixer" That's probably not a problem. I've often seen that on setups that work perfectly. I think it is just an information thing rather than an error (though I don't know its significance if any). My question is this : Is it po...

Re: Correct recording settings?
In your second picture: Audacity is set to record from a microphone. To record what is playing on your computer you need to set that to "Stereo Mix" (if available). If there is no Stereo Mix option, have a look in the Windows Recording Control Panel and see if your computer has a Stereo Mi...

Re: Tempo isnt the same
How much faster is it? I know that you say that you have done "ALL SORTS of troubleshooting including changing the sample rate(in the left hand-bottom corner of Audacity) and changing the preferences concerning export", but it does sound like you have a sample rate mismatch. If you generat...

Re: Analysis of Surface Electromyography-Signals
Eventually it would also be cool to have a convenient way to include the track name (e.g. muscle 1) Which code are you currently using? If it's the version in this post: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=180386#p180386 then I've added an extra option in the first line. (setq fieldtext &...

Re: newbie help, quiet voice noisy background
It sounds like you were recording in a swimming pool with a $5 microphone and a rubbish sound card. The best that you can do is to delete it. It's beyond repair. For a better recording, try using a $15 USB microphone in a quiet location with plenty of soft furnishings and the people talking close to...

Re: Interference when recording accoustic guitar
I can hear that you've used noise removal on the voice recording.
I don't hear any "interference", just a bit of hiss and what sound like normal acoustic noises. What are we supposed to be listening for?
