Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements

The fact that Silence Finder actually detects and can include sound is not I think a user-facing problem. .... How the code works "under the covers" is not necessarily of great interest to a newbie user. Their primary concerns are always: "What does this do?" and "How do I ...

Re: Help needed to set up Audacity 2 for recording web radio

padevchooser is not particularly important. The important thing is that installing padevchooser will also install PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol). The main benefit of padevchooser is that it gives convenient access to pavucontrol (but pavucontrol should also be available in the applications ...

Re: Progressively change the tempo

It's generally better to start a new topic for each new question as the question of the topic title has been answered. Regarding making the music flow when you repeat it you need to make the end of the first time match with the start of the second time. This can usually be achieved by trimming the e...

Re: Contrast Analysis not Working

If that's the case, what was the reason for the "fix"? Probably because you raised a bug report for it ( http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454 ). I haven't officially "approved" the fix yet, as you can see, but you can say that about other bugs too because I am sh...

Re: Contrast Analysis not Working

It's also unfortunate that for most of the examples WCAG actually show a selection in a stereo pair, which now won't work and which scenario wasn't considered by them. So it appears that they were working on the assumption that stereo tracks are fairly similar in both channels? If that's the case, ...

Re: Recording four tracks simultaneously

Steve, No matter which combination of HOST and INPUT DEVICE I choose, the INPUT CHANNELS never changes from the two types: MONO or STEREO. I would expect to see "4 CHANNEL" pop up if it recognized the PreSonus mixer as having that capability, but Audicity doesn't appear to have a configur...

Re: 3 HOUR Audio

We're saying that the symptoms that you are describing are consistent with it not being an MP3 file, but some other format.

MediaInfo will be able to tell you for definite if it is an MP3 file or something else.

Re: Audacity v2 Linux unstable and many issues

Also for some reason the 'snap to' was checked. I never check this box. That's strange as the default set by the source code is "snap to: off". It should still be labelled experimental and full of bugs. Again that's strange as there are millions (literally) of people using Audacity 2.0 an...

Re: time synced new tracks

If you are able to achieve consistent delay (latency), then see here for how to get Audacity to automatically correct the delay.
This will only work if the delay is consistently the same.
