When you say "way too fast", how much "too fast" do you mean? 10% too fast? 50%? 1/4 speed? 10x , 20x too fast?
If you import a 'known-to-be-good' audio file into Audacity, does it play correctly?

Re: Lost ability to change recording input - how to get it b
Windows may have just hidden the option (quite common) or there may have been an update that removed the option (sadly not uncommon either). See here for how to un-hide the option if it is hidden, and some workarounds if the option is not available with your new Windows set up. http://wiki.audacityt...

Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements
Thanks for the comments Peter. Please don't take this personally but, isn't that taking a rather narrow view of things? "Recordings" might not have instantaneous sound but use of Audacity isn't restricted to recording. Audacity is also used extensively to edit sound files. If I were to car...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
Yes +1. It matches with current Silence Finder and Regular Interval Labels. Done. Should your reference above to "if a detected sound is less than 1 minute then it will be "grouped" with the next sound" have read "2 minutes" ? Oops, yes (typo). I'll change that for the...

Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements
never put a label in a recognised sound due solely to label placement (as opposed to sound detection) issues. How often does it do that? With the default settings it won't but if the minimum duration of silences is reduced (as may be necessary to aid detection) then it could occur quite frequently....

Re: print Audacity 2.0 manual
The manual is in html format so it will open in your web browser. Most web browsers have a "zoom" feature to increase the on screen text size. The Audacity 2 manual has several hundred pages (in standard size print) so it may be more practical to view it in your web browser. There is littl...

Re: Audacity v2 Linux unstable and many issues
Menu The menu headers after some editing and many different windows opening and closing will wind up with only 'Fi ' of file will be visible. The rest of the memu headers are gone and the links with them. It means I will have to save my work and back out of Audacity and reenter. If I have several o...

Re: Spoken Word: Tweaking for Maximum Quality
Steve, I know this was a number of years ago. Wow, it certainly was :D Just wondering, when you say you would "set the Lowpass filter a little higher", I mean set the Low-pass filter frequency a little higher. 3kHz is about the highest frequency on a traditional telephone land line, but y...
