Re: Help Converting Audio
There's a free program called MediaInfo that you can use to check the format of WAV (and other media) file.

Re: Help Converting Audio
Any idea on how to drop the rate but also keep the audio clean? Leave the sample rate in the track at 44100 Hz. Change the "Project Rate" (bottom left corner of the main screen) to 22000 (or whatever you want). The exported file will be at the same sample rate as the "Project Rate&qu...

Re: Importing long songs
Are you saying that the last 20/35 seconds are silent?
Are you able to upload the file somewhere so that I can have a look at it (perhaps a free file sharing service like sendpace.com ?)

Re: Importing long songs
Does Audacity do this with all file imports?
What is the file type? MP3? WAV? WMA? Something else?
How long should the track be?
If you generate a 10 minute tone (Generate menu) does it play for all 10 minutes?

Re: Terrible sound quality issues. after first 2 seconds...
If it is the enhancements would that explain the big drop in quality after the first 2 seconds? Yes, that is a typical symptom of the "enhancements" messing up a recording. You are also correct that Windows does not have such enhancements on XP (sorry I missed that bit in your post) but s...

Re: Audaicity recording playing fast Win7x64/Audacity 2.0
Well that does at least help to rule out some other possibilities. If Windows Sound Recorder can record then Audacity should be able to. So what we are looking at now is likely to be either that Audacity fails because it is a little "heavier" than Windows Sound Recorder and that is just en...

Re: temp file
Audacity creates a lot of (possibly thousands) of temp files in its temp folder. This temp folder can grow very large while working in Audacity. The temp folder should never be manually deleted as doing so can destroy your Audacity project. The temp folder data contains the audio data of your projec...
