Do they play correctly in Windows Media Player?
How exactly did you "rip" them?
What format are the tracks now?

On the Presonus.
Channel 1 is the first on the left. Is that the input that you are using?

In the Mac settings, what do you see? Can you post a screenshot?

Re: Audacity on "older" PCs--some fine-tuning suggestions

I just installed AntiX Linux I thought that Antix was designed to be used as a Live CD? If you just want to install a lightweight Linux OS, I'd recommend a minimal install of Debian Squeeze (no Desktop), then add XFCE. XFCE has come a long way over the last couple of years. It is well featured and ...

Re: Clip Fix only fixes part of the signal?

There's not much official documentation for ClipFix. Most of the information is at the top of the ClipFix effect screen: Clip Fix attempts to reconstruct clipped regions by interpolating the lost signal. Before use, reduce amplification by 10 dB to give room for the reconstruction. 'Threshold' is ho...

Re: Problem with slight latency when making additional track

Ah, I see what's happening. Your steps do not quite work, Ctrl+shift+n does not work until after you stop the recording, but I get the idea. The middle track looks a bit strange just because it is quite small vertically (so the controls and track info are hidden), but otherwise it is a normal audio ...

Re: Freecorder 3.0

I'm going to try and crack the SoundBlaster XFi problem next. It does seem that every time MS thinks up something new, they disturb a lot of tried and tested ways of getting things done. Ain't it true ;) Do let us know how you get on with the XFi problem. It's quite a common device so any informati...

Re: Distortion but no clipping showing

Amplifying/Normalizing the sound to -1 dB is about as high as you can get without either (a) clipping (distortion) or (b) compressing the dynamics. Compressing dynamics is commonly used on commercial recordings so as to make them sound louder (see Loudness War http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_w...

Re: Voice over radio jingle - increase jingle sing-out level

If you are willing to accept such clipping distortion, you have to explicitly allow that by checking "Allow clipping". Just to reinforce this point - Normally you would want to avoid clipping. The OK button greys out to prevent accidental clipping. The Amplify effect (in your picture) sho...
