Re: Squelchy sound of bass drum (from Hydrogen drum track)

I have used Hydrogen to create a drum track, but when I import into Audacity it has a weird squelchy sound Are you saying that the kick drum sounds different when played in Audacity than it does when played in Hydrogen? Are you listening with the same equipment (headphones plugged into your laptop?...

Re: audacity show many input devices

You have a complex audio system (ALSA + PulseAudio + PipeWire). Audacity is showing the devices that it sees on your system.

Are you exporting from Hydrogen as a WAV file and then importing the WAV file into Audacity?

Re: Song automation

It sounds like you are trying to reinvent a tracker.

Perhaps try OpenMPT! https://openmpt.org/

Re: Recording an interview

Recording both sides of a voip conversation with Audacity is difficult. It's much easier to use Zoom's built in recorder.

Re: Making Audio Captcha using audacity

If you know Python, then probably your best option would be to automate Audacity with Python. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/scripting.html

(Note that the scripting API is not yet frozen, so there may be changes in later versions of Audacity, though such changes are likely to be small).

Re: Making Audio Captcha using audacity

How many times will you need to do this? Once, twice, 10 times, 50000 times, more?

Re: Lost sound

What sort of sound card is it?
Is it an internal sound card or USB or something else?

I wonder why it changed, I don't remember altering anything.
Perhaps there was a Windows update.
"Stereo Mix" is a very old technology that has been gradually replaced since the introduction of WASAPI with Windows Vista.

Re: Sound

downloaded 2.4.2 still no sound on playback OK, so lets take a look at that "Audio Device Info": 1. "Help menu > Diagnostics > Audio Device Info" and wait a few moments for the info to appear. 2. Click the "Save" button and save the file somewhere convenient. 3. Attach...
