Re: Silence getting truncated

Is it "real" silence - a flat blue line (like the end of track 1 below), or "empty space" (like the end of track 2 below)?

Re: Blue wave disaperring

saved it as rtrtrtrt as im lazy lol Try not to be lazy in your posts ;) It'll save a lot of time if you can be thorough and descriptive. "Where" did you try to save the project? Do you have full read/write permissions for that location? How long was the recording? How much space is availa...

Re: Blue wave disaperring

What name did you give to the project?
Where did you try to save it to?
Does the .AUP file exist where you tried to save it?
Does a _data folder exist?

See here for a description of Audacity Projects: http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/h ... jects.html

Did both the file and data folder exist in the directory where you saved the project?

Re: Blue wave disaperring

is there any way to get the audio back? That depends on why it is missing. Look in the "View menu > History" Is there anything listed in the most recent actions to indicate why the audio isn't there? When you saved the project there should have been an .AUP file and a _data folder created...

Re: Vocals too faint...

Do I need to buy a USB mic? I've got an Aspire 5735. The built in microphone and the microphone input are both crap (very noisy low quality audio). USB microphones have the advantage that they bypass the computer sound card, so they can provide a cost effective way to achieve reasonable sound quali...

Re: Audacity 2.0 Does Not Work on Windows XP Virtual Machine

Audacity has a hard enough time running on an unconditionally stable, single computer. Audacity is quite capable of running on a virtual machine, even at the same time as running on the "real" operating system, provided that (a) the system is fast enough (b) the "real" system ca...

Re: 24bit 96k FLAC files are not saving correctly

Audacity can export as 96 kHz 24 bit FLAC. As with all export formats, the sample rate is taken from the current "Project Rate" setting (see bottom left corner of the main Audacity window). When you select FLAC as the export format, click the "Options" button and "24 bit&quo...
