Re: cant recored with my keyboard organ
can i connect the usb midi cable to the soundcard? No you can't. There is no USB audio input. What's confusing me is that the image shown in the CD10 manual (as in the post by audino ) does not have a USB connection. :? It has two audio output connections (marked "4" in the picture). You ...

Re: checking an mp3 for clipping [how to/questions]
So now I'm just listening (going by ear) That is the ultimate test. The whole point of music recording is how it sounds . The rest is just an explanation of why it may not sound as good as we would like. Mp3DirectCut never seems to show clipping MP3DirectCut has a different method of rendering the ...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
Thanks for the suggestion audino. The option is under "Directories" because it is directly related to the "temp folder location" (which is quite rightly in the "Directories" section). Normally Audacity will write data to this temp folder unless/until the project has bee...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
Glad you've solved the mystery :P If Koz is correct and selecting the Audio Cache tick box inhibits discs writes then I maybe this could be explained a little more clearly in the description alongside the tick box (just a thought). Yes, Koz is correct. That option is only intended to enable users th...

I don't think that they canSchmackie wrote: I didn't realize that they could be muted and still play in Audacity.
If I mute a track in a multi-track project, the track is not heard.

Re: Is it possible to write a plugin to alter the menu layou
I use just seven of the Effects (and only three of those with any regularity). I'd like to be able to reduce the list down to just "my favourites". You can remove any/all "plug-in" effects very easily. (plug-in effects are those that appear below the dividing line in the menu). ...

Re: Generate starts its own track.
My understanding is that all this is intended behaviour. It has always been this way as far as I'm aware. I forgot Audacity did this. I wanted to add noise to a track, so I mounted the music track as the top track and selected Generate > Noise expecting a second track with the noise in it. Of all t...

Re: Audacity Recovery Utility = bad magic number error
I managed to recover at least some of the .au files, I noticed that some of the files are MASSIVE (one is 3GB, one is 26 ! GB) :? The .au files should be 1 MB with a few .au files smaller than that. The limiting factor of that plug-in is that the data needs to be loaded into RAM so, for example, to...

Re: Problem with recording quality
Use the standard (PulseAudio) sound system, or use plain old ALSA and enable "Software Playthrough" (Transport menu).
