Re: Start and stop times of notes with sliding tempo?
It depends on how "musical" you want to be. Tempo increases are rarely linear in music and usually the increase in tempo is much greater between the last and first beat of the (next) bar than between other beats. The greatest increase is usually between the last beat of the accelerando and...

True, but I don't find that to be an easy one to remember.waxcylinder wrote:or Ctrl+K to delete
Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and Ctrl+X work in most Windows programs (including Microsoft Word and very many others).

Re: Amplification
You probably can't work out the exact amount of gain that will be produced, but the following settings should give just a little over +3 dB boost: Threshold: -12 Ratio: 2:1 Compress based on Peaks. Leave the other settings at their defaults. The manual page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/hel...

Re: Can I somehow tell the time the sounds were recorded?

Making very long recordings is not without problems, but is possible. You must have more than enough free disk space on the machine. An 8 hour mono recordi...

The "Edit Toolbar": http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/help/manual/man/edit_toolbar.html Also (and probably quicker/easier) is to use the common keyboard shorcuts: Ctrl+C Copy Ctrl+X Cut Ctrl+V Paste (On Mac OS X use "Command" rather than "Ctrl") You can also use the...

Re: How to preserve original file characteristics when joini
the original files are "hi res unlimited" 96kHz 24-bit WAV files. To edit these completely losslessly you will need to export in the same format. Note that some programs may not be able to handle this format correctly. Note also that if you make an audio CD from these files the format wil...

Re: How to preserve original file characteristics when joini
Go to Preferences, the Quality section, and set the Default Sample Rate and Default Sample Format to be the same as the files you are importing. The important part here is to set the Sample Rate to the same as the files you are importing. The Sample Format may be safely left at 32-bit float (defaul...
