Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
being an ex-electronics professional I don't read manuals unless absolutely necessary. Strange that. Being an ex-electronics professional myself, I do read manuals ;) One notable exception was Audacity, as when I first started using it the manual hadn't been written (at least, not much, and it wasn...

Re: Software Stereo Mix - for devices that lack it
This is probably not going to happen for Audacity due to the diverse ways that operating systems control sound. On Linux this is already available. On some (mostly older) Windows systems this is available through "Stereo Mix". For other software solutions see here: http://wiki.audacityteam...

Re: Need help removing ringing background sound
Same thing here, This was a very low sound recording through 2 walls. The high pitched ringing is louder than the conversation. How can I remove the noise? :?: Rather than trying to remove the noise, the better solution would be to place the microphone in the same room as what you are trying to rec...

Quality Settings for CD
Topic split from here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=184850#p184850 EDIT: I changed the quality to 32 bit float and did the same -12% speed reduction on that track. It did not error out. Maybe that explains things for 2.0.1 but how come I never got any erroring out in prior versions ...

Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift
I've repeated your steps as closely as possible on Windows XP SP3 about 20 times with your original file and about 20 times with other files in Audacity 2.0.1 and about the same in Audacity 2.0.0. This took a long time as my XP machine is very old and slow (processing time about 15 minutes for that ...

Re: silent mp3 export
I'll move it to the appropriate forum board when we know which version of Audacity you are using. (we can only work with the information that you provide, so it needs to be a dialogueIriathZhul wrote:Is there a different thread

Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift
Ah ha - you have Quality set to 16 bit. I've not tried that (I always work in 32-bit float as that is "native" to Audacity and avoids unnecessary conversions).mdubin wrote:http://www.sendspace.com/file/qroia6
I'll try 16 bit and see if that makes any difference.

Re: silent mp3 export
Topic split. It is generally better to start a new topic than hide your question on the end of a topic from 2009. Hopefully you will be using a more up to date version of Audacity than in the old topic, so let's start there. Which version of Audacity do you have? Which version of Mac OS X ? Do the r...

Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift
I've been testing thoroughly with the same version of Audacity 2.0.1 on the same OS (Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit). We can't completely rule out something peculiar about that WAV file. It's possible that there's something peculiar about it that Audacity 2.0.0 is tolerant of but 2.0.1 isn't. Would you b...

I assume that you wish to paste it multiple times in a simple rhythm?
