This device is not listed in the Audacity audio source selection list.
Why do you think it should be?
Try following the instructions here:

In the Pavue
do you mean "pavucontrol" ("PulseAudio Volume Control") or something else?

Assuming that you do mean "pavucontrol", have you selected the "Monitor" option that corresponds with your playback device?

Re: Audacity Error Help

I am not using a disk or anything like that. Do you mean that you are working on an Audacity project that hasn't been saved? (Audacity always uses drive space. If the project hasn't been saved, then it uses temporary drive space, which is usually on the C: drive.) How much free space is there on dr...

Re: Soloing tracks

I know I can do this by clicking on the MUTE or SOLO buttons. Re: audacity show many input devices

the problem is, that those audio sources labeled as "default" or as "pulse" should output audio which comes from sources like a video playing within a webbrowser. Not necessarily. When recording from "pulse" (PulseAudio), Audacity will receive audio being sent to it fr...

Re: Audacity recording over itself?

Since rMBP #1 and rMBP #2 are the same exact hardware and the exact same set ups - rMBP #2 was originally a clone of rMBP #1 - how is it possible that rMBP #1 is screwed up but rMBP #2 seems to be doing okay so far? Difficult to say. There obviously is a difference, but finding it is not easy. You ...
