If you're using a USB device, the problem is most likely as described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Playback#usb
No sign of your "missing" post, so I guess it must have been a glitch in the forum.

Re: MiniHost Problem Related?
I don't see any reason why installing Audacity should make any difference to MiniHost.
What happens if you just uninstall Audacity and make no other changes?

Is the noise sudden bursts of full-scale (full track height) noise?

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
I am now at a loss to explain the oscillatory nature Could this be to do with Windows memory management? (Windows moving RAM to page file when available memory gets too low). however this does not explain why there is not a crash when the cache is set to 600MB Is that above the threshold for Window...

Re: Soundfinder and export labels
SoundFinder is available in Chains in the latest version of Audacity (2.0.1).
It would be possible to modify sound finder so that it exports to a file as well as producing labels.
Audacity is designed as a GUI program so it will be difficult to integrate it into some other program.

Re: Quality Settings for CD
I have noticed that there are a few areas where Audacity's dither could be improved, but it's a complex area so I need to research more before writing a proposal. If there are any C+ programmers interested in this area, please get in touch and I'll share my findings so far (pretty boring stuff for a...

Re: Quality Settings for CD
"Dither" is all about noise shaping. When dither is not used, there is still noise introduced when reducing the bit depth due to quantise errors. Dither is about redistributing that noise so that it is less noticeable/annoying. Triangle dither has been around a long time and works quite we...

Re: occasional noise
You've not mentioned the word, but does "USB" come into this somewhere?
