Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Glad you like it. I've been using similar fade-outs to this for years, but using a slightly fiddly process to make them. Back in the days of CoolEdit Pro I set up a custom fade that would do this. Just realised/got round to coding one up for Audacity. I wonder why it took me so long, it only took ha...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Is 10 seconds the professional "recommended length" to apply the Pro Fade over or can/should that vary? 10 seconds is a rough guide. Adjust it to taste. According to the material it may sound best anywhere between a couple of seconds an twenty seconds or more. 10 seconds is usually about ...

Re: Ugly waveforms
"Windows Conferencing" I think it was called You must have spoken to Kozikowski. He was the only person in the world that calls it that. Now there's two of you, perhaps the term will catch on. ;) Could you post a short sample so that we can examine it more closely (see here: http://forum....

Re: Quick help with some audacity delay (Not the effect)
From my guitar the signal goes straight into my guitar amp. It goes out of the amp via the headphone jack which then goes directly into the line in of my computer, and finally out through my headphones. And your headphones are plugged into what? How do I isolate the two separate recordings and then...

If you lower the level of the audio then the audio will still be clipped, but at a lower level than 0 dB.

Re: Adjusting Master Volume Affects Recordings
Look in the Audacity "Transport" menu and ensure that "Software Playthrough" is off (not selected). If that is enabled it will account for why you are getting an echo.

Re: Swishy recordings
Could you be a victim of Windows Conferencing? I wish you'd stop calling it "Conferencing". There is no such setting in Windows as "Conferencing" so users will not e able to find such a setting. The settings in Windows are called "Enhancements". It may be different in ...

Re: Swishy recordings
Is the "swishy" sound in the original Audacity recording (played in Audacity) or only when you play the exported file?
