Re: Audacity 2.0.1 WONT OPEN! PLEASE HELP!
If there is an audacity.cfg file, try editing it so that it has only this information in it. This will disable Audiounits and VST effects: NewPrefsInitialized=1 [AudioUnits] Enable=0 GUI=0 [VST] Enable=0 GUI=0 Rescan=0 Probably best to remove the Portable Settings folder and do this with the normal ...

Re: Cannot select less than 1 full second of audio when edit
We're trying to work out why so many users enable the "Snap To" setting without realizing that they've done so (with the aim of helping new users to avoid this problem).
Can you cast any light on how this may have occurred?

Re: Imported audio just plays in the first 2 minutes
When making screen shots, could you resize Audacity to small size so that the screen captures fit on a forum page. I can see the full image by right clicking and selecting "View Image", but it's not convenient to do so. Does this happen with just one particular file, or do other imported f...

Re: occasional noise
USB is not always completely reliable. Sometimes the data can "loose sync" and then the data becomes corrupted, which can cause noise. It is more common for such noise to be "full scale" noise, which is definitely "overwhelming", though there can probably be less severe...

1 kHz = 1000 Hz 2 kHz = 2000 Hz .... 7 kHz = 7000 Hz (like "kilometers" = 1000's of meters) If you select the "Graphic EQ" view in the Equalizer (http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/help/manual/man/equalization.html#graphic) hover your mouse over the vertical sliders and you sh...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
all I did was undo record and then record. What I'm saying is that if the first recording was long enough to create more than one dxx folder, then "Undo" will remove those folders if the History is removed and the next recording will not start with d00 but with a later numbered folder. As...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
The only new discoveries that I have made are: [*] An apparently "out of sequence" data folder structure can be created by discarding Undo History. Can you explain that one a bit more, please Steve? This sounds as if it could be relevant generally, not just to Audio Cache recording. Gener...

Try using the Equalization effect to pull down the frequencies around 7 kHz a bit. http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/h ... ation.html

Re: Tempo Fluctuations on Playback (v. 2.0.1)
Please tell me you can hear the difference between these two recordings. Yes I can. From your previous description I was expecting something a lot more severe, but yes, when you know what to expect it is quite noticeable. The first version is "skipping" bits. It's not actually "speed...
