Re: Deleted file makes Export hang - a repro
Can anyone else repro this? Yes. You are corrupting the Undo History. Your Import preferences are set to allow "On Demand" importing of WAV files (reading uncompressed files directly from the original file rather than copying the audio data into the Audacity Project). When you import a fi...

Re: removing small blank spot when appending audio to projec
Easiest way is to keep the sections in different tracks - just use the "Time Shift" tool (double headed arrow button <-->) to slide the sections into the right positions, When the edges of two audio clips line up exactly they will "snap" together and show a yellow vertical line. ...

Re: Change the sound of voice
"Changing" the voice is easy, you can make it sound like a "mud monster" by slowing it down, like a robot with the vocoder effect, like a chipmunk by speeding it up.... Changing the voice so that it sounds natural, but like someone else, no, that is not easy - you'd be better to ...

Re: Just starting out, questions
Please read the instructions more carefully - VST Bridge should not be used with Audacity 2.x
For recording electric guitar I prefer to use a microphone in front of the guitar cab so that the sound of the amp, cab, and any effects that are being used (such as overdrive) are recorded.

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
My mistake. Nautilus shows d00, d01 and d02, but if the view is refreshed when step 5 (generate the new 30 minute track) is completed, d00 disappears leaving just d01 and d02.Gale Andrews wrote: leaves you with d00, d01 and d02 at step 6?

Re: Freeze on playback of Audacity 2.0.1 on Gentoo
Log out and back in again. Avoid opening any programs that use audio (watch out for flash pages in your web browser). Open Audacity and try setting the output device to either "default" or "sysdefault". Generate a tone (Generate menu) - unless you have changed other preference se...

Re: Techno Effects
You will not be able to use the MIDI or real-time features of AutoTune.
I'd suggest that you use GSnap rather than AutoTune - some of these "anti-piracy" gizmos can cause a lot of problems unless you install and fully register the full paid version of the software.

Re: Labels, Snap and Selections
Another tip that may help - taking the case of labelling precisely from the start of a drum beat: If the label track is not directly below the track that you want to label, drag the tracks into a new order so that it is. Tracks may be dragged into whatever order you want. Zoom in really close on the...
