Re: Can't record -Host processes interfering
The problem is the "app" showing "Windows Host Processes IN USE". Which "app" are you referring to? That's not an Audacity message. I've searched Google for "Windows Host Processes IN USE" and there was exactly one hit - this topic. Is that the full and exact...

Re: compressor deleting wafeform
What settings are you using? (all of them) Roughly how big is the waveform before applying the Compressor? (a screenshot might be useful - see here for how to attach the screenshot to your post: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936) How long is the track? Mono or stereo? Do ...
Re: Big Sur?
Concerning Audacity compatibility, the app itself is likely to work fine because of the Rosetta 2 compatibility layer built into MacOS Big Sur. One of the forum regulars has taken the plunge and updated to Big Sur. Basically it is looking OK. His comments here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewto...

Re: Pause Macro for User Input
Some Macro commands do pause for user input. For example there is a command "Open:" (which presents a standard dialog box where you can select either audio files, a list of files (.LOF) or an Audacity Project file to open). However, that defeats the point of Macros, which is to run a list ...

Re: Improving Sound Finder
Is there anyway that I could see the source code Sure, the plug-in IS the source code. Just open the "label-sounds.ny" file in a text editor. The plug-in is written in "Nyquist", which is a dialect of the LISP programming language. Nyquist is an interpreted language. More info h...

Re: [Manual Installation] Building Audacity on Ubuntu - CONFIG_EXECUTABLE?
Which version of cmake do you have? cmake --version If it's less than 3.15 then you need to install a later version. Instructions here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=112605&p=402587&hilit=Ubuntu+18.04#p402587 Once you have a recent enough version of cmake, I think t...

Re: Audacity failed to read from a file from C when exporting or adding effects
There may be other bugs in the upload process as another file I uploaded was distorted and unplayable, so I deleted it and re-uploaded it. I hope developers can investigate these issues The developers will not even look at the issues that you mention unless there is sufficient information about wha...

Re: Improving Sound Finder
if I could set the maximum sound duration at 10s, the 13s sound labeled "017" in the example below could be avoided. Why did it not detect a "silence" between 1:42 and 1:43? Was it because the silence was too short, or not silent enough? The problem with having a "maximum s...
