Re: VST Plug-ins

You've posted the .aup file. That can't be played without the "drum sample_data" folder (see here for why: http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/help/manual/man/audacity_projects.html ) The best way to post an audio sample is to select about 5 seconds of the recording, then from the File m...

Re: Exporting music to CD burning softward

In the File menu you will see an option for "Save". This option saves the Audacity Project. An Audacity Project is not an audio file (further information: http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/help/manual/man/audacity_projects.html ) In the File menu there is another option: "Export&q...

Re: When audacity is started, jack crashes

When audacity is started, jack crashes. That would suggest to me that there is a problem with Jack. Audacity should not be able to make Jack crash. Does Jack work with other applications (for example Ardour)? running audacity 2.0.1 compiled from source Have you tried the repository version of Audac...

Re: input volume level does not work

the Audacity input volume level will not work. It says to use the "system mixer". That is not uncommon, it's the same on my Debian system. In both operating systems, Audacity input volume levels can not be set. Audacity says to use the system mixer to set the input volume level, but they ...

Re: replay last 5 seconds

Several ways you can do that: 1) Zoom in so that "5 seconds" is more than a gnat's whisker http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/help/manual/man/zooming.html 2) Press the End key (moves the cursor to the end of the track, then press the "," (comma) key to move back 1 second for e...

Re: Recording in-studio with two mics

Audacity can only record from one device at a time.

On a Mac it may be possible to create an "aggregate device" in the system sound set-up, then select that as the recording device for Audacity. I don't use Macs so I'm not able to give detailed instructions.

Look in "Edit > Preferences > Libraries".
What does it say for the FFMpeg Library version? (there are version numbers for "F,C and U")

Re: Timeline editing.

1) When you play back and stop the cursor stops at the place you stop, does not return to begining. Press shift + A 2) Maybe be able to put keyframes were you want to edit. Audacity does not use "keyframes" (unlike video, the audio is not in "frames"), but it does have "lab...
