Re: Professional sounding fade out.

I think that the (above the line) one-step fade-in fade-out effects are indispensable. They provide simple, general purpose fade effects that are suitable for almost any situation where a fade to or from silence is required (though not necessarily the ideal fade type in every situation situation). T...

For example, if you wanted to add some echoes to the last word in a verse (assuming one vocal track and a t...

Re: Multitap delay

I agree that this is not a mainstream effect for Audacity, but I think a good one for the wiki. I think the shipped delay will be preferable for novices as there is no absolute need there to select extra audio. What version of Audacity did you have before 2.0.1?
Did the problem occur with that version?

Re: tape to CD conversion

You need to create separate "tracks" on the CD.
There's a tutorial that explains how to do this....

See tutorials 4 and 5 here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/h ... to_cd.html

Re: Mesing about just to save a file

Why all this bother and having to go through all this trouble simply to save a file with the same name ? We know the ‘dangers’ of replacing an original file… but it’s something most of us choose to do! The support team got tired of explaining to so many users how they had destroyed all of their own...

Re: Hard Limiting

"Hard" limiting is not generally recommended because it adds distortion. The "hardness" of a limiter is how abruptly the tops of the waveform are cut off. If the cut-off is totally "hard" then it is likely to cause an unpleasant raspy quality to the sound. The "sof...
