Audacity does not do that. Sound activated recording is either enabled or not enabled. Why not use TeamSpeak 3 if that does what you want?KOKOSfly wrote:I want the recording to GO ON and recrod moments when sound is over voice activation level - just like in TeamSpeak 3.

Re: What should normal input levels (dB) be in a quiet room?
Using a reasonable quality 16 bit USB microphone I'm getting around -75 dB peak noise level, -88 dB RMS.

Re: What should normal input levels (dB) be in a quiet room?
I was just curious though what Audacity considered normal levels but their silence (no pun intended) speaks for itself [!]. If you expect to always get replies within a few hours on a public forum, your expectations are too high. The helpers on this forum aim to respond to all questions within 24 h...

Re: What should normal input levels (dB) be in a quiet room?
What should normal input levels (dB) be using a usb mic in a very quiet room? Using the built-in mic on my Acer Aspire laptop the noise level is between -25 and -28 dB (depending on whether the fan is running or not). Using a reasonably good external microphone plugged into the Mic input, the noise...

Re: Does this sound like a tough piece of music to loop?
Based on downloading the file in FLV format and importing into Audacity, loop from 0.367 seconds to 25.964 seconds. If you download or record in a different way the exact times may be slightly different. The start and end of the loop should ideally be at zero crossing points: http://manual.audacityt...

The best way that I can think of (though there will be other methods). Press Record The capital of Idaho is ......<pause>..... Boise > Ctrl+M > Enter The capital of Alaska is ......<pause>..... Juneau > Ctrl+M > Enter .... Press Stop (or space bar) This will create one audio track with a label betwe...

Re: speed too fast on play back
If the Audacity recording is playing back too fast, but at the correct pitch, then there must be bits of data missing. See these two links for possible causes/solutions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording_-_Troubleshooting#skips http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Managing_Computer_Resou...

Re: Muted/Soloed track plays in Audacity but is not in MP3
I'll be discussing this on the QA list and duplicate my main points here. The ability to "solo" more than one track at a time is a familiar feature for users of hardware mixing desks, and can be very useful. The analogy with hardware mixers breaks down for "export" as hardware mi...

Shift+M, thanks, I knew there was another one but I didn't remember what it was off the top of my head.
