Re: LP Rip with Distortion at the end of side one
You're using a much larger "Window Size" for the spectrogram. The larger the window size, the finer the frequency resolution, but the lower the time resolution. To see tiny glitches that are only one or two samples duration the window size needs to be quite small. In your image you'll noti...

Re: Audacity won't start anymore.
Reinstalling Audacity won't make any difference. The way to reset Audacity is to reset the audacity.cfg file, and you've already done that, so that is not the problem. 2) Open the Windows Mixer (see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... es#vistacp) Ensure that at least one recording and ...

Re: Automatically adding track silence
Cool thanks Robert. I'll try and keep this brief and to the point: 1) Close all instances of Audacity, then restart Audacity (so that we know where we're starting from). 2) Generate menu > Tone > 30 seconds, 0.8 amplitude Sine 440 Hz (probably all set by default) 3) Select from about 10 seconds to t...

Re: Automatically adding track silence
I must admit that I find this rather puzzling.
If I write out some step by step instructions, would you be prepared to spend a few minutes running a little test just to check if soundfinder is actually doing what it should be doing?

Re: Playback "lag" after fading track
on a slow computer the indicated playback position may not be quite in sync with the audio that is actually playing. If you apply an effect or an edit at a particular point on the waveform, then that is the position that it will actually be, even if the playback cursor is not indicating quite the ri...

Re: Audacity 2.0.1 "About" not updated?
If both 2.0.0 and 2.0.1 were installed in the default locations, then 2.0.1 should overwrite 2.0.0.

Re: Audacity won't start anymore.
Some things to try. If one does not work, ensure that Audacity is not running at all and move onto the next. 1) Shut down the computer completely and reboot, then when Windows has fully loaded, try launching Audacity. 2) Open the Windows Mixer (see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolb...

No worries, that's often the main difficulty.mpgiii wrote:I didn't know exactly what to call my problem.
As a matter of interest, did you find one particular item form that page to be the solution or was it a combination of things?
