Re: Incredible voice isolation, but can't figure it out...
For removing sounds such as that buzz at 1.36 seconds in your first sample, you need a program that can plot and remove frequency traces, (such as Melodyne studio). You can't do that in Audacity because it is a broadband sound that overlaps other broadband sounds.

Re: Audacity Fade effects
there's a little confusion about the commas and decimal points and the allowed seperators. First of all, in switzerland, the decimal point is used, so no need to lump all Europeans together regarding the usage of the comma. Point taken (pun intended :)) The important issue is that Nyquist can curre...

Re: Audacity Fade effects
I'm in no doubt of the usefulness of some kind of "text envelope" not only, but especially for blind, partially sighted and other non-mouse users. As non-mouse users have no other way to modify the envelope (other than compression) I think that accessibility must be the overriding priority...

I meant, make sure that Audacity is not running, shut down, completely, all Audacity windows, not just the current project window - total.Gale Andrews wrote: Steve used the term "instance". But if he meant two instances of the audacity.exe for 2.0.x, this is deliberately blocked by Audacity.

Hey if so--why not Bing? Googl...

Re: Audacity won't start anymore.
Well that will be the problem. Something has gone wrong with the computer sound system.
Are you able to roll back to a restore point from when it was all working?

Re: Export
In what way "not available"? Is it grayed out, or can't you find it?
Does this help? http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/h ... tml#export

Re: Automatically adding track silence
Thanks for testing Robert.
You may still find it quicker/easier doing it manually, or perhaps a combination of Sound Finder and manual tweaking, but at least we know that it's not something broken.

Re: LP Rip with Distortion at the end of side one
Blimey, that took a long time.
It's finally finished downloading.
Yes, it looks like I was using a window size of 128.
You're using a much more "narrow band" setting, which obscures detail in the time domain.

Re: I get this image when trying to download Audacity
Just to be clear, this is not because there is any problem or any virus threat from the Audacity web site. It is a false warning from the "security" software on that Windows 7 computer. This is the MacAffee report for the Audacity web site: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/http%3A//audacit...
