Re: Cross Fade Classic
Resetting the effect. 1) Why might resetting be necessary? The cross-fade effect fades out the first track, then fades in the next track, then resets itself. If for any reason the effect is applied to an odd number of tracks (user error :o ), then the track count will get out of sync and the plug-i...

Cross Fade Classic
Inspired by the popularity of " Pro Fade Out ", here is a "one click solution" to creating a professional sounding cross fade. The name "Cross Fade Classic" is a working title to distinguish it from the (many) other cross fade effects. This plug-in partially automates t...

Re: USB microphone buzz/distortion
I use an H2 (on Linux). It's not a problem that I recognise either. Try using the H2 (a lot) in standalone mode and try to recreate the problem. It probably will not happen in standalone mode, but give it a really good workout to make sure that it doesn't. If it does, then it could be the L/M/H mic ...

Re: Audio Quality On Home Videos.
Instructions for installing FFMpeg for Audacity on Windows are here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#ffdown I would have to delete the original audio and attatch the enhanced one, Is that how it works? That's basically it. You need to use some sort of video editing p...

Re: export files 2-4 times as big
MP3 is a compressed data format. To change the size you can change the amount of compression that is used when encoding. Greater compression produces a lower bit rate (kbps) which produces a small file. The downside is that the more compression, the worse the sound quality. MP3 compression always do...

Re: noise removal assistance?
If I can figure out how to get rid of the noise as a proof of concept I will get back to writing SW to do it automagically. You may be interested in this discussion about "noise coring": http://audacity.238276.n2.nabble.com/Patch-new-quot-Noise-Coring-quot-filter-td6804609.html The versio...

Re: Audacity Fade effects
What the Nyquist GUI really lacks is a options or expand button. Considering the simple GUI design of Nyquist plug-ins, I like the idea of "tabs" for opening addition screens. Another thing that would be very useful would be the ability to keep a plug-in open after it has run. This would ...
Re: Safe Mode
From my first post: "I downloaded Audacity 2.0.1 for Windows 7 Home Premium a few days ago." Yes I know, but I'm asking what program you are running. I presume that you downloaded the standard .exe installer, and then ran the installer and are now running the Audacity 2.0.1 application wh...

Re: Separated/Individual balance for Right and Left channels
I presume that you want to compensate for a left/right imbalance from the thing that you are recording? Is that right?
Why not correct it after you have recorded it using the track "pan" slider?
