Re: Envelope Tool Set Points
That's worth having as an extra Effect: Reset Envelope, isn't it? I wouldn't expect there to be much demand for such an "effect" as control points are normally only present if the user has deliberately put them there. Another method is to use the Equalizer effect with the controls set to ...

Re: Lame Converter MP3
Are you saying that you are having trouble downloading LAME from the Internet, or are you having trouble using LAME? I can't work out exactly what you are doing or what you are asking. Instructions for downloading and installing LAME for Audacity are here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Inst...

Re: Audacity and mp3
Audacity can import (open) MP3 files, but due to patent issues it cannot be shipped with support for exporting (saving) MP3s. However, if you install "LAME", it will add support for exporting MP3s to Audacity. See here for how to download and install LAME: http://manual.audacityteam.org/ma...

Re: Editing a recording
This may be the effect that you're looking for: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tr ... lence.html
Read what the manual says carefully and have a practice on some test tracks before using it for real - this effect is not very intuitive (but we're working to improve it).

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but Audacity does not do real-time processing.

Works fine here.Poncing about wrote:Multi-tool mode: you can only move a ‘track in time’ once - only once!
How exactly are you trying to "move a track in time"?
Your choice, but Audacity 1.2.3 is no longer supported.Poncing about wrote:I’ve gone back to 1.2.3

Re: Envelope Tool Set Points
however, the many set points did self actuate. I've no idea how you managed to do that :? To remove control points from a section, select the part that you want to remove the control points from (could be the entire track). Select "Nyquist Prompt" from the Effect menu. Type the following ...

Re: can't use effects - can't slow down
The "slow down slide" is called the "Transcription Tool" If you were previously using an older 1.3.x version of Audacity you will find that this tool works in a slightly different way. Please see here for how to use the tool in Audacity 2.x http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/h...

Re: Looking for an external sound card ---windows 7
It depends on what you need.amberOK wrote:So i want to buy external sound card for my laptop......
Is the sound card primarily for use with Audacity?
So you do recording with Audacity? If so, what / how do you record?
What do you use for playback? Headphones? Speakers? What sort, and how are they connected?
