Are you saying that you are having trouble downloading LAME from the Internet, or are you having trouble using LAME? I can't work out exactly what you are doing or what you are asking. Audacity can import (open) MP3 files, but due to patent issues it cannot be shipped with support for exporting (saving) MP3s. However, if you install "LAME", it will add support for exporting MP3s to Audacity. See here for how to download and install LAME: http://manual.audacityteam.org/ma...

Read what the manual says carefully and have a practice on some test tracks before using it for real - this effect is not very intuitive (but we're working to improve it).

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but Audacity does not do real-time processing.

Is the sound card primarily for use with Audacity?
So you do recording with Audacity? If so, what / how do you record?
What do you use for playback? Headphones? Speakers? What sort, and how are they connected?
