Re: Underwater effect

Re: Removing hum and hiss

Setting the "frequency smoothing" to the maximum is not always the optimal setting. There is a trade-off between bubbly metallic artefacts if the frequency smoothing is too low, with loss of bass if set too high. The optimal position varies depending on the noise and the audio material, so...

Re: The input audio is not always recorded

Without a lot more information it is hard to comment. The problem could be anything. We don't know which version of Audacity, whether they are using PulseAudio, Jack, ALSA, OSS4, whether the problem is reproducible in other software .... It could be something as basic as a bad microphone connection....

Re: I need to 'filter out' or reduce drums, in a song

You can't "filter out" drums because they cover a wide range of frequencies that mix with the same range of frequencies as other sounds in the music. If the drums are very loud in the mix, you may be able to make them less prominent by applying the Compressor effect with a high compression...

Re: Exponential Wind-downs for synths?

For anyone new to this thread, the topic is (I presume) "synthesizing siren sounds" (as per these topics: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=65862 and http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=61260 ). Is that right sirendude2011? My question is, since I can generat...

Re: Removing Envelope Control Points

Topic split. In your proposed plug-in, the only bit of Nyquist code (in addition to the header) is: s "S" is a special global variable that Audacity uses to pass the sound from the audio track to Nyquist. Putting this as the only code line in the plug-in tells Audacity to put the sound bac...

Re: Envelope Tool Set Points

An alternative method to remove all of the control points is to apply the Equalization effect with the controls set to "flat".

Re: Envelope Tool Set Points

Nyquist plug-ins require some header text. You will find full details on this page: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyqui ... _Reference
This will be the smallest Nyquist plug-in ever :D

I'll split this post and move it to the Nyquist section.

What is the web browser that you are using?

If you follow the instructions on this page (steps 1 and 2) http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ: ... g-Ins#lame the LAME installation program should download as Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe .
