Re: cant hear through my earphones...

With your guitar plugged into the jack input of the Guitar Link, the USB connected to the computer, and your (non-USB) headphones plugged into the Guitar Link you should be able to hear the guitar through the headphones regardless of whether Audacity is running or not. Ensure that the headphone volu...

Re: Overdub not recording

Do you have the default, unmodified Ubuntu sound system (PulseAudio)?

Are you able to play back from Audacity when not recording?

What settings do you have in the Device Toolbar? http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Device_Toolbar

Re: cant hear through my earphones...

Do you mean that you can't here yourself through the USB headphones while you are recording through the USB Guitar Link? If so, the reason for that is that your playback and recording devices are different devices and there is no physical (wired) connection between the two. You could enable "So...

Re: Overdub not recording

Re: Need Help getting started

Try selecting the "Rescan Audio Devices" option in the Transport menu, wait a few moments then look in the Recording input section of the Device Toolbar to see if a USB option has appeared http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Device_Toolbar If still no joy, go to "Help > Audio Device In...

Re: Snap to Clicktrack

+1

I have been begging for this feature for years, but none of the developers seem to have any experience of this type of work and so do not see the point.
Please elaborate on why you would like this feature, how you envisage that it would work and why it would be a huge benefit to Audacity.

Re: Cannot paly back tape converted MP3 CD in stero music sy

Nero generally works pretty well. Do you use Nero often? Have you been able to successfully burn any kind of CD with Nero? If so, what sort of CD? Audio CD, Data CD? Mixed Mode CD? Please be detailed and expansive in your reply - we like detail :D

Re: Why cant i hear it play on another format

Try this and see if it works: 1) Open Audacity 2) Generate menu > Tone (this should generate a 30 second pure sine tone at 440 Hz) 3) Press the Play button - you should hear the tone play "beeeeep" 4) Press the Stop button 5) File menu > Export In the File Name box, enter the word mytestwa...

Re: Suggestion: open multiple audio files

when we need to edit, say, 3 files, Audacity needs to open 3 different windows. I think that using the same instance for multiple files could make the work a lot easier - and, of course, use less hardware resources. Perhaps you could explain further how these benefits would be achieved. I don't see...
