So people can use it from the Generate menu without changing defaults, I suggest "Identical" (renamed as "Mono/Dual Mono" or similar) be default. How about Number of audio channels: "1" or "2 (stereo)" default = 1 That wording ties in with the (Nyquist) error...

Do you have some demo/trial versions of any of the Waves plug-ins installed (or any other Waves products? It sounds like the problem could be doe to their product registration protection.

I think that IDT is a component manufacturer rather than a sound card manufacturer, hence the lack of end-user support. What make/model is the laptop? Have you checked their website for driver/trouble shooting information?

What sort of headphones are they and where do they plug into the computer?

Most Macs can't naturally do this, either for stability reasons I've used Stereo Mix on many XP machines over the years with absolutely no associated "stability" problems. I currently use Linux, which also has the ability to "play through" and again without stability problems. S...
