Re: export multiple silently loses data
Is there another use case I am missing? Possibly several ;) One example that comes to mind: You're making a CD (album) from several home recordings. They were made with the same equipment in the same place, so mostly they want the same EQ, compression, reverb etc. So you load all of the tracks into...

Re: export multiple silently loses data
Any tracks that would then not play should not export at all. I agree with that. I can see no reason to export an empty tracks when a track is muted. I find it hard to see the logic in exporting a track if it is muted (muted should mean muted, ie no sound) though I do see your point about the pract...

Re: Waveform missing upon import
Try this experiment. 1) So that we have a clean start - reboot your computer. 2) Open Audacity (new empty project) 3) File menu > Save the project to your Desktop. Call it "test" (without quotes). 4) Import the WAV file that I posted. Does that work? Open "Edit menu > Preferences > Di...

Re: Narrowband Noise
how about "Stereo Output" No, Yes with a custom instead of generic error message if they say "yes" with only a mono track? I like " Stereo Output: [ No , Yes ]" best. It's simple and clear imo. Unfortunately I cannot intercept the default message because Nyquist genera...

Re: Waveform missing upon import
tried to generate tones import and and record new audo within one of these failed projects, and any audio created seems to vanish immediately. So if you import or record into a new project, then Audacity works correctly, but if you import or record into one particular old project, then the audio di...

Re: recording what you hear
Is it possible to open pulse audio from within audacity? We'll need to be careful about terminology so as to avoid confusion. "PulseAudio" is the sound system. "PulseAudio Volume Control" is the software for configuring PulseAudio. PulseAudio Volume Control cannot be opened from...

Re: Poor recording from mixer using RCA to USB cable
I'm not familiar with Serato or the N4 so you will need to help me out here. If you connect a USB output from your computer to the USB input of the N4, and connect the booth output from the N4 to an amp/powered speakers, can you then play any application (example, WMP. Serato, Audacity, VLC or any o...
