Re: Professional sounding fade out.
I really would not want Pro-fade to remain below the line All plug-ins are below the line. The only ways that it could go above the line are through reorganising the Effect menu (proposal: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Proposal_Menu_Reorganisation#Effect_Menu) or by coding it as a built-in Auda...

Re: Fraunhofer MP3 (l3codecp.acm) on Audacity
If you have an executable version of the encoder you may be able to set it up as an external encoder: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ex ... ogram.html
However, I wouldn't bother. You should get results as good with LAME.

"it is not writeable or the disk is full" You may be using an invalid name. Watch out for "special" characters. a-z, A-Z, 0-9, - _ and <space> are safe. Other characters such as .,!"£$%^&*()_?/... can cause problems. Also watch out for weird characters in the metadata (...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
In a plug in that I wrote recently, the same types are available. But to make things easier, there is a additional option field, where you can choose between equal gain equal power and automatic volume control. In this way, it is possible to combine each curve type with any of the later 3 settings....

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Yes a linear fade, when used as a cross-fade is the equal gain fade Yes the fade that is 0.707 mid-way is the equal power fade. It can not be linear. There are a number of different curves that can produce equal power cross-fades. The one that I intend to use is a 1/4 cycle sine. As you say, this cr...

By "output" do you mean "headphone socket"?joshuamerrick wrote:output and MIDI
You should be going into the "line" socket not the "mic" socket.joshuamerrick wrote:Via a cable going from the output to my mic jack

Re: export multiple silently loses data
If the behaviour is consistent, then there is little that you need to remember. The main problem now imho is that it is not consistent. The behaviour of muted tracks is different depending on whether you are listening, exporting, exporting multiple or doing a mix and render. (and that imho is banana...
