Re: wma files size not as the original

As for "compressed audio gets more and more damaged each time you make a new one", I think that is true, but negligibly, because the most affected parts are few millisecond at the start and at the end of an audio piece. Sometimes it is inevitable, but need (cut few parts of an audio piece...

Re: fender acoustasonic amp

Is the amp listed in the Windows Sounds control panel as a recoding device? http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... es#vistacp
If not, you need to sort that out first (you may need to install drivers for it - I don't have one and I've not read the manual).

Re: Control tracks for various effects

If you are more interested in seeing this developed as a Nyquist plug-in then I'll move this topic to the Nyquist section and I have some ideas about how to achieve what you describe. I've tried a "proof of concept". There are problems to overcome, but basically it works. This is the proo...

Re: Control tracks for various effects

I'm not wanting to put out your fireworks ;) as I think this is a really interesting idea and has some mileage in it. I'm just wanting to indicate some of the difficulties that would need to be overcome. Guess it's time for me to start learning writing plugins. If you are more interested in seeing t...

Re: Poor recording from mixer using RCA to USB cable

if not, I'm going to have to give a soundcard a try, although Im loathed to do it as that would toatl and expenditure of £120 with no guarantee of recording good wquality audio for my mixes. The Behringer UCA 202 is surprisingly good for the price. You need to be careful about input levels, but as ...

Re: "No targets specified and no makefile found" on make

Try running "apt-get build-dep audacity" again, and check the output carefully to see if there are any dependencies that cannot be installed.
If that all looks OK, try doing the ./configure and make again, after running make distclean.

So that we can move this to the right part of the forum, which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in "Help > About Audacity").

Did those links help you to resolve the problem?

Re: Append Import

Tested on Windows 8 (just to be awkward). If the "Import Folder" field is empty and I choose "Sequential", "Mono" (or "Stereo") I get a message “Directory “” does not exist" (with no Debug output). The "Usage" help states the working directory ...

All of the old releases are available here. http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacit ... /audacity/
As to which version, Noise Removal was in version 1.0. I don't know earlier than that.
