Re: Information passed from Audacity to Nyquist

I am terribly sorry for the late reply but my hard disk decided two weeks ago that it was time to leave this miserable world with a final roar. No problem, glad to see you back on line. If we wait for the version 4 of the plug-in interface for our property list to be introduced, That's not what I'm...

Re: Mic to Headphone Latency

Steve points out that I should plug the headphones into the multimix, but when I do, I can only hear what I'm currently recording, not the previously recorded track. You need to set Audacity to use the Multimix as the playback device in the Device Toolbar: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/devic...

Re: removing echo

With the original WAV file or the original Audacity project (something without MP3 compression damage) and unlimited time and an unlimited budget and if it were just a single simple echo, then it may have been possible (but still not easy). Unfortunately the problem is made considerably more complic...

Re: Sync problem with export multiple

Here's two alternative keyboard shortcut sequences: Method 1: Ctrl+A J Shift+K Ctrl+T Method 2: J Shift+K Shift+Ctrl+K Ctrl+T Both methods select from time=0 to the end of the project in all tracks, and then trim to that selection. Unfortunately there is no single operation to trim all tracks at tim...

Re: Mic to Headphone Latency

Your headphones should be plugged into the Alesis Multimix. Is that where they are plugged in?
"Transport menu > Software Playthrough" should be off (not selected).

Re: problems recording with microphone

I can't explain the symptoms, but I'm not completely clear what the symptoms are, however these are two areas that I suggest you look: Windows Sound Enhancements should be off: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording_-_Troubleshooting#enhancements Check the recording level in the Windows So...

Re: emails

You say reduce the bit rate to 32kbps. Is that the "Project Rate" set at 44100 Hz.? Leave the Project Rate at 44100 Hz. Set the MP3 bit rate in the Export Options (when you export) http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/file_export_dialog.html For voice by e-mail I would suggest that you re...

Re: new person looking for help

how many minutes will a standard CD hold 72 minutes, though personally I try to avoid filling them to maximum capacity because the last few minutes are most likely to mess up (they are right near the edge where it is most likely to get knocked and scratched). Audacity does not burn CDs. To make a C...

Re: lossless trimming?

In the world of image editing ... it is known that you shouldn't edit-and-save in a lossy format if you can avoid it. Yes that's exactly the same for audio. My question - is there anything equivalent for mp3, on Linux? MP3Split The command line tool is called mp3splt (if you search in Synaptic, not...
