Re: PLAY button
I've noticed that when you PLAY, STOP, then PLAY again, it starts from the point it stopped, That is not the default behaviour. The default behaviour is that stop returns the cursor to the original "play from position. Note that in Audacity 2.0.2 there are two alternative layouts of the transp...

Re: Mic to Headphone Latency
I can get it to record in synch with previous tracks by turning off the software play through Then you have the computer and Audacity set up correctly. Now for the bad news. :( What you would normally do, is to have the computer and Audacity set up as above, then use the mixer to route both the mai...

Re: digitizing 45 rpm vinyl
Since my stylus is designed for 33 1/3 albums I get distortion when I play 45 rpm vinyl without the larger stylus. As waxcylinder wrote, the same stylus should be OK for 33 1/3 or 45. 45s are often cut a lot louder (bigger wiggles) than LPs, so the distortion is probably just due to the signal leve...

What sort of microphone and how does it connect to the computer?
How are your headphones connected to the computer?
Do you know what sort of sound card you have?

Re: new person looking for help

Re: need to remove silence at end via script
It's probably not obvious for users that are looking for a specific tool for a task, but "Time Shifter" does pretty much the same thing as the "Extend" feature of "Trim Extend" - it adds silence to the beginning of the track. I've just tried "Time Shifter" and...

Re: changing ouput level
There are several issues affecting how loud it will sound. Computers often have multiple places to change the volume - check the instructions for the tablet and ensure that the level is turned up in each place. Digital audio has an absolute maximum peak level - 0 dB. That's when the waveform touches...
