Re: MP3+MP3+MP3

With Audacity: 1) Import the MP3's. They will appear as tracks one above the other. 2) Use the Time Shift Tool to slide the tracks left right so that they are in the time order that you want http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tools_toolbar.html#timeshift 3) Export as MP3 http://manual.audacityteam...

Try MP3wrap http://mp3wrap.sourceforge.net/
It is probably available through the package manager (Software Center)

Do you specifically want MP3?
If you intend putting the recordings onto CD you will get better quality if you export as WAV.

I've just done a quick, non-scientific survey on this site: http://www.richersounds.com
27 models of CD player
14 support MP3 disks.
13 don't support MP3 disks.

Re: new person looking for help

I have found out that any CD Player that will play MP3 (Standard now) will play the WMA. It's OK to disagree ;) I disagree that MP3 support is "standard" in CD players. I have a cheap portable CD player, a CD player in the car, a high quality CD "separate" hi-fi player and an in...

Re: Crashing when opening file from External HD

The obvious "solution" is to copy or move the file from the external HDD to the computer before you start.

If you launch Audacity from the command line you may see an error message to give you some indication of the cause of the problem.

For "self help", start from "connecting up" in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... rding.html

Re: it doesnt record!

the two rcas are correctly plugged into my mixer What does that mean? Don't assume that we can see your set up, we can't. To be able to help we need a clear and detailed picture of your set up, including, what operating system you are using, what hardware, what is connected to what and how, what se...
