Re: Stereo Reverb

Must have changed something in Nyquist for easier processing of stereo tracks, as the error posted by the user probably originated with the snd-srate function on one of the filters. The error reported (way back on page one) was due to HIGHPASS2. The highpass and lowpass filters in Audacity 1.2.6 on...

Re: Problem trying to add new tracks to existing project

That's helpful. That mixer is really designed more for DJ type use rather than as a recording mixer, but I think that we should be able to get this working. I presume that the mixer is connected to the computer sound card with a lead something like this: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/images/var/t...

Re: Audiobox USB doesn't register

Go into the Windows Control Panel and ensure that it is enabled as a recording input - you probably want to set it as the default: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... es#vistacp
Then restart Audacity.

Re: Problem trying to add new tracks to existing project

I've seen a number of entries that say DO NOT check Software Playthrough. That is correct. That seems to be what Software Playthrough provides. No, that is what "Overdub" provides. "Overdub" needs to be on (selected) "Software Playthrough" needs to be off (not selected...

Re: How do you turn off saving an old copy of a file?

so, to me, this feature is nothing but annoying and clogs up my directories with files I don't need. Not so. If you could overwrite a dependency the project would be destroyed so the export would fail. The links that I posted about Projects and Dependencies explain "why" it happens. If yo...

Re: Cut or delete also adds silence to 6 seconds of the wave

I transferred the files over wifi ... Ouch, yes, definitely a possibility. If I'm transferring projects I generally "ZIP" them into an archive file before sending them. Not only does this make the copying faster, but if there is any corruption the ZIP is unlikely to open, so no nasty surp...

Re: Sync problem with export multiple

 It works! Hooray :D Most of people uses Audacity to numerize old tapes or to cut their phone rings in 30 seconds slices, but Audacity can do so much more.. It most certainly can. I've used a lot of "professional" audio software, but for a lot of editing tasks Audacity has remained...

Re: new person looking for help

If you've not done so thus far, it will be well worth having a read through tutorials 3, 4 and 5 on this page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_or_minidiscs_to_cd.html particularly tutorials 4 and 5. What is a good fairly cheap mic to get that plugs into the computer? ...
