Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Is a one-click reverse of fade direction when using custom gains highly useful? It's useful if you want to fade the level down a bit, then back up again (or vice verse). I would expect this to be a fairly common use of a "partial" fade. When fading to or from silence it makes little diffe...

Re: Can Audacity play an .mp3 file from a url on a web page?
If you want to open an MP3 from the Internet in Audacity you should download the MP3 first.
I would also recommend upgrading to Audacity 2.0.2 which you can get here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

For a "dreamy" effect, try the "L-voice" effect that is available as an optional plug-in here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=53954 Instructions for how to install plug-ins: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins#Installing_Plug-ins Fo...

Re: Turntable Warping (v3)
After further testing, the version posted in this topic is less broken than the version in Audacity but it's still not quite right and requires further attention.
Thanks again to Bill for testing and providing vital clues to the remaining problems.

Re: Whawha efect error
Does the problem occur with just one Audacity project? Does the problem occur with any other effects? Can you give step by step instructions for how we can reproduce the problem. Which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in the "Help menu > About Audacity") Which version of Windows ar...

Re: Who is able to create a simple VST plugin or nq?
Thanks Trebor. I agree that taking the frequency content into account is likely to be beneficial for determining which sounds are "useful" sounds and which are "noise". Once we have a basic implementation of the analysis stage of the plug-in we can test out various ways of improv...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Coming up with unambiguous names for different fade "shapes" other than "Linear" is proving to be one of the main stumbling blocks. I think that the simplest way to get round the problem of multiple "curve" names is if we can have one control that "bends" the ...

Re: FAQs don't help
In Audacity you need: Third box: "Stereo Mix". You must also set up your computer to play through "Speakers (Realtek High)" and not your headset. I'm not sure about the Windows Control Panel settings as I don't use Windows, but there's a tutorial here: http://manual.audacityteam....
