Re: VST check on login

The choices are: Remove the problem VSTs from your computer Move the VSTs (temporarily) to somewhere that Audacity will not find them (see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/VST_Plug-ins#locations ) Disable VST support in Audacity. Unfortunately if Audacity will not start you will not be able t...

Customising Fade In and Fade Out

I think this is such an interesting idea that I've split it to a new topic so that it doesn't get lost. Split from: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=192951#p192951 A little side remark. It is maybe only a possibility for the distant future but nevertheless worth a short reflection. The ...

Re: Who is able to create a simple VST plugin or nq?

Yes, I've tested it. It does what it is intended to do. In practice, as shown by tour "about Holmes" sample, the sudden muting can be as distracting as the problem that it is fixing. The main problem is the suddenness of the muting. For the "about Homes" the audio can probably be...

I don't think you need an expensive mic for that. A $20 USB desktop mic should be quite adequate.

Re: strange problem, noise when exported

In Audacity, does the track show two audio channels like this? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/m/images/3/39/stereo_track_annotated_l_r.png If so, Export the track as a WAV file, then import the WAV file back into Audacity. Does the imported WAV file still show two channels? Try playing the importe...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

"Mid-Fade Cut/Boost" can work with logarithmic and exponential fades. I'll try it out in the next version. Does this merely mean that those not using presets could have more choice of Fade Types? A bit more progress on the log/exponential fades. I need to do more testing, but at the momen...

Re: Who is able to create a simple VST plugin or nq?

I hoped that one had a sample file with those clicks. I can't record at the moment. Therefore I experimented with the following "speech simulation" Love it :D Differentiating a mouse click from a "k", "t" or "d" at the end of a word is going to be difficult. ...
