Re: SUPERIMPOSING TRACKS
It is generally better to start a new topic for a new question rather than tag it onto the end of another topic. No, unfortunately Audacity can not currently superimpose multiple spectrum plots. This is already a feature request on the wiki so I've added your vote. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/...

Re: Choppy Audio When Trying to Layer
An AUP file is an Audacity Project File. It is one part of an Audacity Project, but we cannot play it to hear the problem because it does not contain any audio. See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html If the second track has little gaps in it, making it sound "chop...

Re: Splitting Vocals Into Left And Right Channels
I can think of some painful ways to do it. Using the track drop-down (on the left) > Split Stereo track. That gives you two timed mono tracks -- left will be on top. Drag-select the parts you don't want and silence them with Control-L. Then Drop-Down > Make Stereo Track. The disadvantage of this is...

Files ending in ".ny" are not audio files, they are "plug-ins"lachenzo wrote:So i go-file /import/audio/beat.ny
If you are trying to install a Nyquist plug-in, see the instructions here: http://audacityteam.org/download/plugins

Re: help needed! data recording seems to be missing
The crucial information lies in the questions that Gale asked.
Much of the behaviour that you describe sounds like it is probably normal, but we don't know exactly what you have done or are doing.

Re: Audacity and Jammit
It looks like Jammit is taking exclusive access of the sound card. You could take a look in the Control Panel to see if changing any of the Windows settings allow both programs to work at the same time, but I'd not put money on it working. I presume that if you want the record features in Jammit you...

Re: Splitting Vocals Into Left And Right Channels
For the parts where only the lead singer is singing - no problem. For the parts where he is harmonising, no chance.
Do you need help with the possible part?

Re: Two mics?
Yes, if you have either a mixer with two (or more) mic inputs and pan controls, or two microphones to plug into a 2 channel microphone pre-amp. It mostly comes down to hardware.Canary wrote:Can I use two mics and have each voice on a seperate channel?

Re: Windows Media cannot read .WAV file saved via Audacity
By default Audacity mixes down tracks to mono or stereo audio files.
If you require a multichannel audio file, see here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/im ... tml#export
Note that Windows Media Player will probably not know what to do with a 32 channel audio file.
