Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Here's the mock-up for a possible version 25. The gain scales are -96 dB to +24 dB v25-dB.png Here's the same but with linear percent gain rather than dB. The gain scales are 0 to 200%, which is equivalent to -inf to +6 dB. v25-percent.png There are pros and cons to both dB and linear scales for the...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
the majority who will be fading only with presets only ever need to change one control. It's less confusing than the "two"preset controls" version, only one preset of which actually disables the sliders. Now that we have the Log and Exp fades and nice default values for Linear, "...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
I did not mean Equalisation, but equal power. When the curve slider was +/- 1.25, the equal power point was +0.5. Now an "equal power" curve is achieved when you choose a logarithmic type with a zero mid-fade setting, if I understand it aright. Yes, the default Logarithmic curve (Mid-fade...

Re: TrimTrack plug-in
This is a bug-fix version to support extending stereo tracks.
It will need checking.

Re: TrimTrack plug-in
There is a bug. When extending a stereo track: error: bad argument type - #(#<Sound: #b2965910> #<Sound: #b29652d0>) This is due to: Line 50 (dur (/ (snd-length s ny:all) *sound-srate*))) Unfortunately, just fixing this to support stereo tracks does not solve the whole problem because of bug 425 . T...

Re: trim 15 sec of at the end of multiple files
Thanks, you've found a bug. Unfortunately I can't fix it straight away because it is not a simple bug. Fortunately it does not affect what you want to do. The bug only affects "extending" stereo tracks. To trim audio from the end of the track you need to set "Adjust End" to a neg...

Re: White Noise / Static (Another one)
Your recording level is far too low. Increase the gain on the Tascam, and/or get closer to the mic, and/or get a more sensitive microphone so that the audio level is higher. Aim for a recording level where the peaks are around half the track height, or if you speak at a very even volume you could pu...

Re: Audacity will not record podcasts
Unless someone has a better way of achieving this I guess I will just have to use this method. That's basically the same way that I do it. When recording "Stereo Mix" you are recording the sound that is playing through the sound card, so changing the playback level should and does change ...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
My "favourite" on balance was still your modification of my suggestion with the single preset control turning off all the other controls (which included a fade direction control). Could you point to, or post, which one that was. Exponential fade up (without moving the sliders) seems to ri...
