Re: Setting up Adacity to record DJ mixes
this is hte pioneer djm-500 mixer Yippee, we got there :D I presume that you have the "Master Out" connected to your amp, in which case you can connect the "booth monitor" out to the computer. Note that the "booth monitor mix" is not necessarily the same as the "M...

Re: noise reduction
How big is the waveform that you recorded? If it touches the top or bottom of the track at the loud parts then it is too loud and will be distorted, probably beyond repair. Re: normalize corruption
One possibility is that there could be some data corruption in the audio file. Recent versions of Audacity are protected against creating illegal samples (where the sample value is not a number ) but this does not mean that a file that does contain one or more invalid sample values will work correct...

Eclipse is cross-platform and runs natively on Linux.gregorypayan wrote:dont want to argue its your opinion. for me, installing linux is best.
If you have Linux you may not need a separate IDE, but some people prefer to have one and one thing that Linux has always done is to offer choice.

Normally Audacity should be set to record as "32-bit float" as this can improve performance and provides better processing quality.

Re: microphone suggestions
A good recording microphone will pick up background noise more than a bad microphone. It would be better to try and reduce the background noise (turn off the TV, close the doors and windows, record at night, find the quietest corner of the house...) If that is not an option then you will probably ne...
