Re: Distortion Caused by Too Much Mic Gain - Can This Be Rem
It can't reinstate because it doesn't/can't know what to put back? That's exactly it. ClipFix detects where the waveform has been cut off and attempts to reconstruct the missing part by extrapolating the waveform from just before to just after the "missing" part. It is "guessing"...

Re: Loud Beep at regular intervals
I presume that you have checked that the sound really is coming out through your headphones and it's not something else such as mechanical noise or an alarm clock in the house next door

Re: Distortion Caused by Too Much Mic Gain - Can This Be Rem
Audacity has an effect called "Clip Fix" which is below the dividing line in the Effects menu. It's as good as most other clip repair tools but the general rule is that if the clipping is severe enough to hear, then it's probably too severe to repair effectively.

Re: need help using audacity
how do u add reverb on to my singing as echo seems to be a bit to much You could use GVerb (below the divider in the Effects menu). See here for tips for using GVerb http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/GVerb#Usage:_two_approaches I'd recommend the "Duplicate and mix together" approach. Ther...

Re: Setting up Adacity to record DJ mixes

Re: Any plugin from the LSPDA set causes a scan....
If you don't use VST or LADSPA plug-ins then you may as well disable them. You don't need to manually edit the audacity.cfg file to do that, you can do it through the graphical interface: Edit menu > Preferences > Effects". The built-in Audacity effects will still be available.

Re: intermittent pops generated by audacity recording
OK I'll be as un-tech'y as I can :) First let's check that your Audacity has the default settings. Do you still have the audacity.exe installer program? If not you can download it again from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows Run the installer again and look out for an option to "Re...

Re: intermittent pops generated by audacity recording
I can see the problem, but I'm not sure exactly what is causing it. That "discontinuity" in the waveform in the centre of this picture is one of the pops: firsttrack001.png It is a little unusual because it is not just one simple discontinuity but has a "step" in it. I notice tha...

Re: Plug-Ins Specific ones - ModernPlugins4950
My best guess as to what you are missing: If you download Modern Plug-ins from http://antress.blogspot.co.uk/ the download is a ZIP file called "Fullpack4959.zip" that contains 5 files. One of those files is called "ModernPlugins4950.rar" That file is another "archive" ...
