Re: Can tracks be moved in and out based on data

You could possibly do it in C++, but I'm unclear why you want to use Audacity for this. You seem to imply that you are wanting to do real-time manipulations, but Audacity does very little in real time. Audacity has some experimental scripting support, but Audacity is primarily designed as a non-real...

Re: New LV2 plugins coming from Harrison

Hi Ben, That's a coincidence, I was just telling someone about Mixbus today. As this forum is at the user end of things it is quite rare that the developers come to visit. You may be better to post direct to the developers mailing list which you can find here: http://audacityteam.org/contact/lists U...

Are your computers chronically short of disk space on any of their hard drives?

Re: Maximum Record Level For Vinyl

A couple of things that I notice about the set-up: The Pro-Ject does not have any input or output level adjustment - the only control is for MM or MC. This means that you have no way to optimise levels until you get to the sound card. Looking up the "Ortofon Nightclub" I could only find th...

Re: keyboard

I presume that you are wanting to record sound from the Clavitech keyboard onto your laptop?

Does your Clavitech keyboard send audio through the USB connection or just MIDI (the Clavitech manual should tell you).

Re: Recording

Topic split. Please do not hijack other conversations - if you have an unrelated question, please start a new topic. Any good cassette player can be used for playing into Audacity. Many of the best cassette players were made by Nakamichi. If you are using a conventional cassette player you will also...

Re: Sound from LP's

The red and white RCA connectors are intended for connecting to a hi-fi amp. If you have a hi-fi that you can connect the turntable to, that will let you hear what the records sound like straight off the turntable without any USB involvement. If you could send a short recording extract to us as well...

Re: play transition end/start & accurate cut

here is a little feature request: a single loop repeat button to turn on/off would be great to have, so theres no need to undo the effect again and again ;) I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but you can make a selection play round and round by using "Transport > Loop Play" (shift+Space)...

Re: No Recording Windows 7

I have tried the instructions but have not had any success, that was why I posted the question on the forum. So how can we help you? We can't see your set-up and we can't see what you are doing, so we have no idea what you might be doing wrong unless you tell us exactly what you are doing, with wha...

Re: Editing/Clipping Problems

Hi Tim. Edit functions are not available while Audacity is playing, recording or paused. If edit options are greyed out, try pressing the "Stop" button. If you install the optional FFmpeg, then you will probably not need to convert to MP3 before importing into Audacity. For un-encrypted DV...
