Re: Audacity Manual

Those numbers are supposed to be "quotes", but something has gone wrong in the conversion to html. It should read: Noise Reduction Audacity can remove some kinds of noise from a recording. Noise Reduction is an ‘audio effect’, one of the fiddlier audio effects to use. This effect works bes...

Re: what effect will fix this?

It sounds like there's a bit of audio missing.
The best you can do with that would be to cut out the bad bit (select and delete) then if necessary use the Repair effect across the join, like this:
skip-repair.wav

Re: Improving Sound Finder

I'm pleased that you found a solution, but something I still don't understand:

Why did it not detect a "silence" between 1:42 and 1:43? Was it because the silence was too short, or not silent enough?
or was it something else?

Re: 2.4.2. How to record multiple audio devices simultaneously (in order to measure latency)

Ideally you would use a mixing desk. Pan one signal all the way to the left and the other all the way to the right, then record in 2 channel stereo. When the recording is complete you can split the stereo track into two mono tracks: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_and_joining_stereo_tr...

Windows Store Version - error opening AUP projects

Re: Can't open project file

The problem is caused by the (unofficial) Windows Store version of Audacity. See: viewtopic.php?p=410197#p410197

Re: Left Right Speaker slider in the Track Control Panel always on Left?

If you record in mono (set the number of channels to "1 (mono)" in the Device Toolbar) then you will be recording both left and right into a mono track, and both will come out in both L/R output channels on playback.

Perhaps just me, but I'm hearing clicks before / after many of the words.

Re: No Sound on Mac

If you generate a tone ("Generate" menu), can you hear that when Audacity plays?
