Re: Inserting MP3 between Tracks
If I'm not understanding your question correctly, see here for how to attach pictures: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 To insert a new file within your current project: Import the new file (File > Import > Audio). This will create a new track. (Optional but probably make...

Re: Synchronising Hydrogen in Audacity
Jack Audio System includes a mechanism for synchronising "Transport". Basically what it does is to send master "Play / Stop / Back / Forward" signals to any software that supports "Jack Transport" control. The sample rate in and out of each application is locked to a c...

Re: how do I record phone interviews
For best sound quality, you record your side of the conversation, they record their side, then they send you their recording and you put the two together. An inexpensive way to do it all "from your end" is to put them on speaker-phone and place your microphone between yourself and the spea...

Could you post a picture of the recording settings.

Re: Audacity Process Running in task manager, but no window
Yes, I uninstalled 1.3 and reinstalled V2.0.2 several times Just "reinstalling" won't make any difference. The important step that "may" make a difference is to select the "Reset Preferences" option when it appears in the installation process. I think that it's fairly ...

Re: can't connect to audacity.sourceforge?
The SourceForge site is temporarily down. The Audacity 2.0.2 installation file is available here: http://code.google.com/p/audacity/downloads/detail?name=audacity-win-2.0.2.exe&can=2&q= "The program can't start because wxbase28u_vc_custom.dll is missing from your computer. Is that file ...

Cross Fade In / Out (upgrade?)
tracks000.png The upper track shows a crossfade of white noise using the current Audacity ""Cross Fade In" and "Cross Fade Out" effects. The lower track shows the same noise being crossfaded using an alternative "Equal Power" curve (For the technically inclined it...

Re: Audacity Process Running in task manager, but no window
Did you uninstall Audacity 1.3.x before you installed Audacity 2.x? If not, I'd suggest that you do that first. Then try reinstalling Audacity 2.0.2 and select the option to "Reset Preferences".
Do you have other music software installed?

Re: Can't record computer playback in Audacity
I cannot get my copy of Audacity to record my computer's playback anymore. Which implies that it worked previously. Was that on the same computer? If so we need to try and find out what has changed. Do you still have the same operating system? If the sound card drivers have been updated through Win...
