Why not include a distortion effect?
I doubt that many users would think of looking at an AGC effect if they want distortion. They are far more likely to look for (and not find) a distortion effect.

Re: AGC - Automatic Gain Control

It has nothing to do with my machine, since I don't have this problem running similar effects such as compressor, SC4, etc. This plugin is just uber slow. Thank you for the feedback, but it does not help without some details. SC4 is a LADSPA plug-in, written in C++ Chris's Compressor and AGC are Ny...

That's strange. On my machine this plug-in runs a bit faster than Chriss Capel's compressor.
What sort of machine are you on?

Re: Stereo Reverb

When I time shifted my reverb track before I got the updated version of this plugin, I would put the reverb on it's own track first, then time shift it. Then, all of the audio would have a reverb with a predelay of 0 The last 20 ms would be without reverb. Why can't you just select from a tiny bit ...

No, because it is not broken.
Just make sure that you include at least 20 ms of audio before you want the reverb to start.

Re: DC offset trickery

Here's a nice "real world" asymmetric waveform, it's a trumpet note by Miles Davis, aptly from “So What” (Kind of Blue, CD 460603 2) http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/asymmetry/miles8.gif (image from: http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/asymmetry/asym.html) I'd bet that this would come out "all zeros...

DC offset trickery

There are sometimes claims that the type of DC offset correction used by the Normalize effect in Audacity can cause DC offset errors with asymmetric waveforms. I previously believed this was true, but have since been unable to find any real evidence to support this claim. This post looks at one poss...

Re: VST Effects 8192 samples delay

I have just tried several VST effects on a Windows XP SP3 (32 bit) machine and I don't see this problem. One effect was out by 1 sample. The rest produced the exact correct result.

Try some of these (free) VST plug-ins and see if they have the same problem: http://antress.blogspot.co.uk/

Re: "Error while opening sound device."

Recording "Stereo Mix" is not available on all computers. It appears that your sound card does not have that feature.

Re: Newbie Encoding Question

If I import an 160 mp3 to audacity and then export at 320 is there a loss? Yes. In fact there were losses on two occasions. The first time was when the audio was encoded to 160 kbps MP3. There were then additional losses when it was encoded to 320 kbps MP3. Using 320 kbps MP3 for the second encodin...
