Re: Flat mp3 frequency response in an automobile
I kinda get the impression that you guys are a tight knit group and that you are mocking me. Not at all. The people that post regularly on this forum are just Audacity enthusiasts that give some of their spare time to try and help other Audacity users. Koz lives on the other side of the Atlantic fr...

Re: Numark DJ/IO - output multiple channels
Audacity can't do that. Audacity can only output to one mono or stereo device.rscarbro wrote:I'm trying to use Audacity to OUTPUT two channels to different places: a stereo channel to a mixing board (and eventually on to a PA), and a mono click track to my headphones.

Re: Record a single window
Are you talking about two Audacity windows, or capturing audio from some other applications?Rooxo wrote: I want to audiocapture one window while other windows also play audio.
It is not clear what you are trying to do.

Re: Voiceovers/Edits
My voice is about an octave lower first thing in the morning, before I've had a cup of tea, than any other time of day. There is no way to correct for that. By recording the "drop in" correction to a new track, you can use the Time Shift tool to accurately synchronise the timing and you ca...

Re: How do i import music?
What is the file format that you are trying to import? For WAV, AIFF, Ogg, FLAC or MP3 files, you just need to use "File menu > Import > Audio", then select the file(s). Installing FFMpeg adds support for many other file types that are not natively supported by Audacity. See here for how t...

Re: AGC - Automatic Gain Control
Gale, yes, I'm still on XP. This plugin shouldn't be as slow as it is on my machine, because similar plugins such as SC4, Audacity's built-in compressor, and Chriss Capel's compressor are much faster. I'm thinking that AGC may require more memory than those other plugins. It runs at least 10 times ...

Re: exporting wav to ulaw
If you could post a short sample in the format that works, we may be able to find the Audacity settings to achieve the same format.

Re: how do I display samples instead of time
The "Timeline" above the tracks panel always shows "time" in hh:mm:ss".
The Selection toolbar may be configured to show time is a selection of units, including samples - click on the little black arrow next to one of the time boxes to select the units that you require.
