Re: Losing a AUP file

Recovering a project without the .AUP file is not easy and might not be successful. Instructions for how to attempt the task are given here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Crash_Recovery You may be better to try and track down what happened to the .AUP file. Did you perhaps accidentally delete it...

Re: Musical Fade-In effect

One interesting point that I notice already: I don't use fade ins or fade outs much but if I do it will be longish fades on light classical or soft rock. I always prefer Cross Fade In to Fade In so I would miss Cross Fade In if removed with no non-GUI replacement. personally I find Steve's tip of re...

Re: Adjustable Fade

So we are again back to Mid Fade Cut / Boost? I think that we only really need "Mid Fade Boost" (or whatever it is called) for "simple" curves. That is, curves similar to this set: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=6170 That is, for a fade-in: A "simple&quo...

Yes, a short audio sample - preferably in WAV or FLAC format. Just a few seconds is enough, preferably including some "noise only" and some "normal audio + noise".

Re: Saving usb output from a fender mustang-I amp [linux]

Has anyone on the list actually tried this amp with audacity _Successfully_ ? Yes there have been a couple of other users that have eventually got that amp to work with Audacity (users only generally only write to the forum when they have problems and not when everything is working fine). I don't r...

Re: Distortion effects

Do I guess the instrumental distortion requests are for fuzzbox? And what is a stompbox "effect"? "Stomp box/guitar effects" has three FR votes (but as a "real-time" effect). "Stomp box" usually means either: A small wooden box placed under the foot than make...

Re: Adjustable Fade

Can you give a couple of examples of those you cannot create? "Professional" sounding fade-ins. What that is missing in the v26 examples would most contribute to that? There are 6 fade-in shapes available in v26. Testing these fades on a variety of music, in most cases none of the availab...

Re: Windows 8 audio hardware offload / acceleration support?

Looking at figure 2 of the proposed software/hardware audio offloading architecture, the proposals appear to be relevant at driver level - between WASAPI and endpoint. Audacity does not deal with the audio hardware directly, it does not even deal directly with the audio drivers. Audacity accesses th...
