Re: Selecting Multiple Clips Simulateously

Yes it's a bit tricky. The easiest way that I've found is: 1) Create "Splits" between the sections ( Ctrl + I or "Edit > Clip Boundaries > Split") 2) Duplicate the entire track (select the track then Ctrl+D (or "Edit > Duplicate") 3) double click in one of the sections ...

Re: Extract vocal sample from song samples?

I got the idea from a video that showed how you could extract vocals from a song if you had a high quality audio file of the original song and a high quality instrumental version of the song, you can line them up as closely as possible, and then invert one of the clips, resulting in the music "...

Re: Help needed to create a plugin for fixing dv clicks

Using robert's code, the effect expected is not reached. But it was a very neat idea. As a rule it is better to give the job of looping through samples to the C++ code (as in Robert's script) rather than looping through samples in LISP (as in my script). An alternative method could have been an OOP...

Re: can't open - "does not have a program associated with it

What was it that fixed the problem?
Was it the "Project Rate" setting or the file name?
(avoid using dots, slashes or weird characters in file names)

Re: Selecting Multiple Clips Simulateously

But of course this would be intrinsically essential to this type of software. Perhaps not so for audio editing? It would perhaps be more complex for audio editing. One example of why it might be confusing: When a region is selected and you press "Play", the region starts to play. If multi...

Re: Selecting Multiple Clips Simulateously

OK I think I can see what you are trying to do. You are correct in that you cannot select more than one discontinuous region at the same time, so you can't, for example, select from 5 seconds to 10 seconds and from 30 seconds to 35 seconds at the same time. I have a telephone conversation where I ne...

Re: can't open - "does not have a program associated with it

Check that the Project Rate (lower left corner of the main Audacity window) is set to 44100.
Then try exporting an audio file in WAV format and name it "test" (without quotes).

Re: Audacity records at wrong clock rate

Yes, pavucontrol. We should be able to set our desired sample rate in Audacity, then let PulseAudio handle the sample rates automagically. Assuming that you have it installed: Open Audacity Select "pulse" as the recording input Click on the recording meter. By default this should start mon...

Re: Audacity not responding when I open project

I'd still be interested to know what happens if you try to open Audacity from the Windows Start menu.
Could the hard drive be full?

Let us know how it turns out moving the project to a new computer.
