Re: How to get rid of this view in Audacity

You have selected the multitool: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/multi_tool.html To get back to "normal" you need to switch back to the "Selection" tool: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tools_toolbar.html Either press the button that has the "I" cursor, or pre...

Re: Adjustable Fade

I've not completely given up on this effect. I've just given up trying to keep all the people happy all of the time. :P I'm currently testing a new version which embraces many of the points that have been raised in this thread, so many thanks to everyone that has contributed. The plug-in is basicall...

Re: iPod restarts when playing first secs of file - 2.0.2.

Does this have anything to do with Audacity on Windows? It sounds like it's a problem with your iPod and/or the program on your PowerMac G5 that you use for syncing. I used the "amplify" effect to add volume to some, and this required me to allow clipping Why do you want to make your recor...

Re: Detecting occurences of a sound

I don't like the idea of opening the Preferences itself from the Track Drop-Down Menu. I agree that would be confusing. It would be a very quirky behaviour to have more than one place to open preferences. A separate configuration window for spectrogram settings sounds like a better idea. I can see ...

Have you tried setting both Audacity and Apple > Preferences to mono?

Re: Missing stereo mix in Windows Pro 64bit (SOLVED)

Glad you've got it working JeffB. For any other users looking for how to do this, in addition to the last reply from JeffB, it is also described in the Audacity manual: here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html and here: http://wiki.audacityteam....

Re: A simple plugin to add a label

A built in key macro facility would probably let a lot more people do these sorts of things too That has definitely been suggested before, but does not appear to be listed on the wiki, so that would be worth raising on the "Feature Request" forum board: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewf...

Re: How can I make my audio recordings clearer to hear?

We can't do miracles, but if you could post a short sample then I'm sure someone will have a look to see what can be done.
Just a few seconds in WAV format will do.

That's another possibility.
On Linux you can do it with "AutoKey".
On Windows there is "AutoHotKey" which I assume can do something similar (I've never used it).
