Re: How to recover a project???
The proper fix is to stop using old beta versions ;) Audacity 2.0.2 is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ If you are really lucky, Audacity 2.0.2 may be able to open the project. If not, attach the .AUP file to your reply (see here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&...

Re: getting the recording right
Sorry but there is nowhere like enough information for us to be able to help you. We don't know if you're on Mac, Windows or Linux, what you are recording, what sort of microphone you are using (if any) or anything else about your set-up. This post may help you to provide the necessary information: ...

Re: Changing Inputs
I am having the exact same problem I hope not. Audacity 1.3.11 is a really old beta version. The current version is Audacity 2.0.2 and you can get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ The answer to Wiu would have been that Audacity does not have channel mapping, so if you want to record chann...

Re: audacity 2.0 / Ubuntu (bodhi) /Mackie ProFX8 mixer
It looks like you've got something connected that you've not told us about :? Let me see if I've got this right: You have a Rode microphone, It is plugged into a 3 pin microphone input in your Mackie mixer, The Mackie mixer has a USB connection to your desktop computer, and your computer has HDMI au...

Re: Chorus Effect
Thanks Trebor. Yes you can get some really weird effects with Chorus.
Here's some more "chorusy" settings using your sound sample. I added a little reverb before the chorus to make it a bit more "ethereal":

Re: AutoHotKey to add a label (Windows)
I wonder why the first Sleep is necessary, before the control+b is sent. Just tried again without it, and it definitely needs it. I can confirm that when zoomed in a long way, the same behaviour is repeatable with AutoKeys, but note that Audacity is designed to be used by humans ;) How fast can you...

Re: Musical Fade-In effect
I can make a smaller collection and then create a poll, but currently we don't even have a short-list. I presume that we would want at least one that fades up slowly then more rapidly, one that fades up rapidly then more slowly, and an "S-curve"? But how much should each curve "curve&...

Re: DJ EZX-fade
Now you know the only "pop" composer that I respect :D I won't tell anyone ;) That is just the kind of example that I was thinking about in my most recent note on the wiki. As Robert describes, a "DJ style" cross-fade only really works when cross-fading music with is similar tem...
