This decision should remain with the plug-in developer. To a large extent this decision will be with the person that programs the feature into Audacity. my "Align "Tracks Deluxe" plug-in is rather a tool than an effect. I would describe that as a "process" because it is tak...

Re: Setting up Adacity to record DJ mixes
In that case it looks like the UCA 202 are the ones marked: speakers (USB audio codec) and microphone (USB audio codec) You can check this by closing Audacity, then "safely remove hardware" and unplug the UCA 202, then restart Audacity. All of the settings should be there apart from those ...

Re: audacity 2.0 / Ubuntu (bodhi) /Mackie ProFX8 mixer
OK, it's basically working, just not very well.
Go into "Edit menu > Preferences > Recording"
Where it says "Audio to buffers", the default is 100 milliseconds. Try increasing that to 150, 200, 250, 300 milliseconds, Do any of those settings stop the crackling?

Re: Editing audio file in half
There are several ways to do this. Here is one method (hopefully an easy one :)) Zoom out so that you can see the full recording http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/edit_toolbar.html#zoomin (shortcut key is Ctrl+F ) You can probably make out from the waveform where the silences are. Click on the wa...

Re: How to recover a project???
Oh dear, I was hoping that you had saved it at some point.
If automatic crash recovery fails the chance of manual recovery is not good.
There is a page on the Audacity wiki about crash recovery: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Crash_Recovery
